हिन्दी: अथवा वह बुद्धिमान योगियों के ही कुल में जन्म लेता है; निश्चय ही इस संसार में ऐसा जन्म अत्यन्त दुर्लभ है।

४. 🔎 विस्तृत व्याख्या (Detailed Explanation)

हिन्दी:

इस श्लोक में श्रीकृष्ण एक बहुत गहरी और सांत्वनापूर्ण बात कह रहे हैं — वे बता रहे हैं कि योग-साधना में असफल हुआ व्यक्ति अगले जन्म में कहाँ पहुँचता है। पिछले श्लोक (६.४१) में उन्होंने कहा था कि ऐसा व्यक्ति किसी पवित्र और समृद्ध गृहस्थ-परिवार में जन्म लेता है। अब इस श्लोक में वे एक दूसरी, और उससे भी अधिक श्रेष्ठ संभावना बताते हैं — कि वह सीधे किसी योगी-कुल में जन्म ले सकता है।

यहाँ श्रीकृष्ण का मूल संदेश यह है कि साधना का संस्कार कभी नष्ट नहीं होता। जो व्यक्ति इस जन्म में योग आरम्भ करता है, भले ही वह उसे पूर्ण न कर पाए, वह संस्कार उसकी आत्मा में बीज की तरह रोपित हो जाता है। अगला जन्म उसी बीज के अनुकूल वातावरण में होता है।

'योगिनामेव कुले' — यह केवल एक अच्छे घर में जन्म नहीं है। यह उस परिवार में जन्म है जहाँ साधना जीवन का स्वाभाविक हिस्सा हो — जहाँ बचपन से ही ध्यान, वैराग्य, शास्त्र-चर्चा और आत्म-जिज्ञासा का वातावरण मिले। जहाँ प्रश्न यह नहीं होता कि "साधना क्यों करें?" बल्कि प्रश्न होता है "आगे कैसे बढ़ें?" — यह अंतर अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है।

'धीमताम्' शब्द यहाँ विशेष ध्यान देने योग्य है। श्रीकृष्ण केवल 'योगियों के कुल' नहीं कहते — वे 'बुद्धिमान योगियों के कुल' कहते हैं। अर्थात् वह परिवार जहाँ साधना के साथ-साथ विवेक भी हो — जहाँ केवल कर्मकाण्ड नहीं, बल्कि तत्त्वज्ञान की समझ भी हो। ऐसा कुल सच में अत्यंत दुर्लभ है।

'एतद्धि दुर्लभतरं जन्म' — यहाँ श्रीकृष्ण स्वयं इस जन्म को 'दुर्लभतर' (तुलनात्मक रूप से अधिक दुर्लभ) कहते हैं। तुलना किससे? पिछले श्लोक के समृद्ध-पवित्र गृहस्थ-कुल से। अर्थात् श्रीकृष्ण यहाँ एक श्रेणी-क्रम स्थापित कर रहे हैं — दोनों जन्म शुभ हैं, परन्तु योगी-कुल का जन्म उससे भी दुर्लभ और श्रेष्ठ है, क्योंकि वहाँ मोक्ष की ओर यात्रा बिना रुके जारी रह सकती है।

इस श्लोक का जो सबसे बड़ा आश्वासन है वह यह है कि आध्यात्मिक प्रयास कभी निरर्थक नहीं होता। संसार में अधिकांश लोग उस परिवार में जन्म लेते हैं जहाँ माया, धन, और भोग-विलास का वातावरण होता है। परन्तु जो साधक इस जन्म में यात्रा आरम्भ करता है, उसे अगले जन्म में उस यात्रा को आगे बढ़ाने का दुर्लभ अवसर मिलता है — योगियों के कुल में, जहाँ आत्मा की भूख पहचानी जाती है और उसे दिशा दी जाती है।

English:

In this verse, Lord Krishna is conveying something deeply reassuring — He is mapping out exactly where the unsuccessful yogi arrives in his next birth. After stating in verse 6.41 that such a soul is reborn in the home of the pure and the prosperous, Krishna now presents a second and superior possibility: that this soul may be reborn directly into the family of wise yogis.

The central message Krishna is delivering here is that the impressions (saṁskāras) of spiritual practice are never destroyed. Whatever yoga a person practices in this life — even if incomplete — becomes a seed planted deep within the soul. The next birth simply places that seed in more fertile soil.

'Yoginām eva kule' — this is not merely a good household. This is a family where sādhana (spiritual practice) is the natural rhythm of daily life — where from childhood, one breathes in an atmosphere of meditation, detachment, scriptural inquiry, and a genuine questioning of the nature of the Self. In such a family, the question is never "why should I seek the truth?" — the question is already "how do I go further?" This distinction is everything.

The word 'dhīmatām' deserves special attention. Krishna does not merely say "born in the family of yogis" — He says "born in the family of wise yogis." This qualifier 'dhīmatām' signals that this is not a household of mere ritual observance. It is a family where wisdom lives — where the scriptures are not just recited but understood, where the inner life is taken seriously alongside the outer. Such a family is genuinely, exceptionally rare.

'Etat hi durlabhataram janma' — Krishna Himself calls this birth 'durlabhataram' (comparatively more rare). More rare than what? More rare than the prosperous-and-pure household of verse 6.41. Here Krishna is constructing a spiritual hierarchy — both births are favourable outcomes of incomplete yoga, but the yogi-kula birth is the higher of the two, because in that environment the soul's journey toward liberation can continue without interruption, without having to first discover the path all over again.

The greatest assurance of this verse is this: no spiritual effort is ever wasted. Most people in this world are born into families where attachment, wealth, and worldly pleasure define the atmosphere. But the seeker who begins the journey in this life earns, through that very effort, the rare privilege of being reborn into a family where the journey is already known — where the soul's hunger is recognized, honored, and given direction.
